Online Publication of National Inventory of Cultural Property of the Maltese Islands
16/12/2011

The Superintendence of Cultural Heritage has just published the first 25 sites as part of the National Inventory of the Cultural Property of the Maltese Islands (NICPMI)

This online inventory is the first from a series of publications which will feature more sites of cultural heritage significance in the Maltese Islands.

As part of this online inventory the Superintendence selected various cultural properties from around Malta and Gozo. The selected sites pertain to different cultural heritage categories: archaeological, architectural, historical, and artistic.

The inventory list is officially published on the Government Gazette http://www.doi.gov.mt/EN/gazetteonline/2011/12/gazts/GG%2016.12.pdf and the Inventory data forms are made accessible for public use on our website http://www.culturalheritage.gov.mt/page.asp?p=21409&l=1

The Superintendence of Cultural Heritage believes that everyone should have the opportunity to know about the richness of our cultural properties and heritage. Therefore all those interested can download the Inventory data form as a pdf file.

The data form is user friendly. It gives the reader the basic information on the site; with the location and address, property description, recommended bibliography, site plans and photographs.

The compilation a National Inventory makes us aware of the significant amount of cultural heritage property around us.
